Jamie C. Abrams has over 35 years of experience in the area of real estate. Before joining Mark in his practice in 1994, Jamie was employed as in-house counsel for the New York Job Development Authority, a public lending institution. Jamie was involved in all aspects of commercial fixed asset financing through the sale of tax exempt and taxable bonds and notes. Responsibilities included: negotiation and closing of multi-million dollar loans and guarantees; environmental review; SEQRA compliance; loan work-outs; bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings; drafting of loan documentation and real property title analysis.

Jamie brings her extensive training and experience to the firm’s real estate and commercial practice which focuses on residential house, co-op and condo closings, commercial real estate closings, commercial leases and the sale and purchase of businesses. The firm represents buyers, sellers and lenders. Jamie has been a mediator since 1983.  She is a mediator with the Westchester Mediation Center in their Restorative Justice, Custody and Visitation, and Small Claims Court programs.  She was a mediator for the Storm Sandy Mediation Program administered by the American Arbitration Association.  She has mediated in the Westchester Surrogate’s Court Mediation Program.   For additional information on Mediation, please click on the Mediation section of our web site.

Jamie’s experience also includes the pre-trial aspects of the firm’s litigation practice, including preparation of pleadings, motion practice and file reviews.

Jamie received her JD in 1984 from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. In 1992 Jamie received her LLM in Environmental law from Pace University School of Law.  Jamie is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Jamie received a B.A. in French Literature from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Jamie has taught several classes for the New York State Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course, approved by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR).

Jamie was first published in the Pace Environmental Law Review, Volume 8, Number 1, Research Guide: Biological Control Agents in Integrated Pest Management: Are They Regulated? Fall 1990. Jamie’s work was again published in the Journal of Products Liability, Volume 14, Video display Terminals: A Survey of Reported Results, Opinions and Conclusions on the Association of Miscarriages with Terminal Use 1992.
